Good beginner's vocabulary.

It is a good beginner's book or one to review German taken fifty years ago. The vocabulary is interesting, so I found it useful. Hey, at least it was not printed in gothic script like my German book those many years ago. The only disappointment was that I had already purchased the first two books included in this four book compendium. I'll wait on getting any of the next four, figuring they will combine them.

A useful and entertaining simple reader.

This is an excellent reader. Not extremely challenging but a good vocabulary builder and reading comprehension builder. This book is also much better than buying the small books separate (which are too short to be worth the money). The stories are interesting, but also more real life kinds of stories (which is to help the reader learn commonly used phrases). This is worth the money for people learning German.

Casey Reason, PhD, is an expert in collaboration, innovation, overcoming resistance to change, and next-level leadership. He has worked with a variety of clients, including some of the top Fortune 100 companies in the world.

Reason is a featured leadership scholar and a member of the Executive MBA Advisory Board for Colorado Technical University. I was very disappointed with the song selection for this book - there's ...

I was very disappointed with the song selection for this book - there's way too many Fleetwood Mac selections and not enough from his time with John Mayall. I believe out of the 13 songs here, only two come from the Mayall period - as opposed to 8 from Fleetwood Mac (and 3 solo songs). Most of the Mac songs have already been transcribed elsewhere, and this could've been a nice opportunity to finally transcribe some of his classic Mayall songs. And some of the Mac songs here, really aren't worth putting in the book. Long Grey Mare, is pretty much a simple riff, that's repeated over and over for the whole song.

However, I did give it two stars, since it was finally nice to get a transcription of The Supernatural. Although it's hard to justify buying a whole book just for one song.

For over thirty years, photographer Edward Sheriff Curtis (1868-1952) traveled the length and breadth of North America, seeking to record in words and images the traditional life of its vanishing indigenous inhabitants. Like a man possessed, he strove to realize his life’s work, which culminated in the publication of his encyclopedia The North American Indian. In the end, this monumental work comprised twenty textual volumes and twenty portfolios with over 2000 illustrations.

Great compendium, tiny pictures

Really great compendium with lots of quality pictures from the original twenty volumes, but... I believe the book is too small (actually pocket size), some of the pictures are just thumbnails. I was expecting full page pics, a little bit disappointing.

Poor reproduction quality

While I am pleased to see so many of Curtis's images in a single book, I bought this with the hope of sketching some of the portraits. There is hardly any contrast and hardly any detail. Everything is soft and dark. I can't see enough detail to draw from. I would have happily paid more for better quality images. It is a disappointing purchase.

TOO SMALL

I own many Curtis books and I must admit, I don't yet have this one. However, I'm not sure I ever will. People- What is wanted here are copies of this mans wonderful photographs and this size book just can't possibly do this art justice. I won't buy it and don't suggest you do either.

Poor Tutorial for Tying Neck Scarves

Nice book IF you are looking for a variety of ways to wear a scarf on your head or as an item of clothing. It gave interesting facts on past fashion icons. However, if you are simply looking for a variety of ways to wear scarves of different sizes and shapes around your neck, this is not the book for you. There were very few examples. It would be a great gift for someone who has lost her hair.
